Catherine A. Hughes, Director of Family Support Services
Catherine Hughes is AERI’s Director of Family Support Services. Catherine graduated from Penn State University with an associate's degree in the liberal arts, but it was her experience as proud mother to Christian (her beloved son previously diagnosed on the autism spectrum) that inspired her to enter the behavioral health field in 2003. She has served as a parent liaison as well as a family support coordinator in Pennsylvania. Catherine brings with her a diverse background including delivery of presentations and trainings, development of programs, web content (including social media), newsletters, and coordination of community workshops, advocacy and more. Catherine promotes early intervention for children with autism and related disorders, and for parents to research every avenue, leaving no stone unturned. She encourages families to provide a voice for their children by becoming their strongest advocates.
Catherine and her family are from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
